I love adding vegetables to my morning smoothies, not only are they a great way to get diversity of different nutrients but we add those much needed antioxidants to our body.

Especially, when we need to fight off free radical damage to the bodies cells, therefore antioxidants are key. With this smoothie I added some beets, Yum! not only due to the gorgeous colour, but the benefits that comes along with it. 

I named it the Nitrate, due to the fact that beetroots are exceptionally high in nitrates.

Research shows that diets rich in nitrites and nitrates can have positive health effects, including lower blood pressure along in relaxing the artery walls, so blood flows more freely.
