This easy and delicious recipe for Sugar Free Watermelon Sorbet is just what we need for this summer, no added sugar. Dairy free, light and airy.

It’s sweet and juicy, making it the perfect treat to quench that thirst during the summer heat.

As we know Inflammation is a key driver of many chronic diseases.

The combination of antioxidants, lycopene, and vitamin C in watermelon may help lower inflammation and oxidative damage. Interesting fact, citrulline, an amino acid found in watermelon, may improve exercise performance and reduce muscle soreness

You can also add some frozen banana if you want to create more of a creamy consistency, but for this recipe I wanted to keep it simple and only have Low GL fruits in the mix.

“As watermelon is around 70-80% water, it's glycemic load is low (2 per 100gm).” If you have sugar sensitivity watermelon should be consumed in moderation.

Method

Add all the ingredients for the sorbet to your blender, blend until smooth. Fold into the sorbet mixture some sugar free dark chocolate chips.

Optional you can use your leftover watermelon slices as sorbet bowls by cutting out a hole on the centre or you can enjoy your sorbet in a smoothie jar or bowl.

Drizzle with a little dark chocolate.

NOTES:**Make sure the pips are removed before freezing the watermelon. Around 300g of chopped watermelon needs to be frozen for this recipe.
